On Saturday 11th June 2016, Gnosall Parish Council celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday by inviting Gnosall’s oldest residents to a tea party and a jolly good time was had by all those who attended. Funds were received from Cllr Mark Winnington, Gnosall Lions and the Gnosall branch of Royal British Legion to help meet the costs of this event. However, as a result of extremely generous parishioners who made so many delicious cakes the cost was kept very low and therefore the parish council has agreed to arrange another event for our elderly residents near Christmas time. The Deputy Lord Lieutenant attended on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen and has since sent a thank you letter praising the efforts of the Parish Council on organising such a “splendid do” and what a “vibrant and energetic village Gnosall is with great community spirit”. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a memorable occasion for those who attended.
