Gnosall Parish Council was delighted to be informed on 11th December 2017, that its application for Quality Gold status was successful. This follows many months of hard work ensuring that all the work of the council and all its policies and procedures that the council has to follow were up to date, documented and in place for a panel of examiners to inspect. All councils want to serve their local communities and make a real difference to the lives of the people that live there and the quality award scheme offers councils the opportunity to show that they meet the standards set by the sector. Councils can, if they choose, apply for one of three levels and Gnosall Parish Council applied for the top award – the Quality Gold Award. This demonstrates that a council is at the forefront of best practice ad achieves excellence in governance, community leadership and council development. There was a very detailed criteria that the council had to ensure was in place, in the first instance ensuring that all the criteria for the lower two levels were achieved before moving on to the third tier and this council managed all of that and it is believed Gnosall is the first parish council in the borough to achieve Quality Gold and only the second in the County.
