Gnosalls BKV Team has been working hard since early March, preparing our village for this year's competition. Our regular working parties have completed a range of tasks including: painting more than twenty benches; clearing winter debris from the Village Hall and Grosvenor Centre car parks; painting six notice boards; cleaning all the picnic area tables and seats; cleaning every litter bin; picking litter; painting and repairing bus shelters; planting flower beds and much more!
Every house in the village has received our new BKV flyer explaining what BKV is all about and encouraging villagers either to get involved or simply keep their own garden tidy and frontage litter free. We have volunteers to litter-pick every village street and a team preparing hanging baskets for the High Street. The 'Threads' sewing group have made over 100 metres of bunting to brighten up the High Street. There is a new brick-built 'Welcome to Gnosall' flower bed opposite the Lock-up. Later in the summer we will be able to put up a new artist-designed, hand-painted sign on this flower bed!
Let's hope villagers and the BKV judges enjoy our efforts to keep Gnosall looking good and that we maintain our position as the Best Kept Large Village in Staffordshire.
