The birds and bugs in Gnosall now have a number of new homes to choose from following a very successful bird and bug box making morning.   In conjunction with National Nest Box Week, an annual event that takes places from14th -21st February and an important part of the ornithological calendar, Gnosall Parish Council arranged this free event, aimed at young children and their families.

The aim of National Nest Box Week is to encourage people to put up next boxes to help breeding birds to help promote the conservation and diversity of wildlife.  The Parish Council also want to promote The Acres open Space and especially the picnic area where the boxes were positioned and area easy to view from one of the many picnic tables.

Around 50 people attended and were given a demonstration on how to build boxes and then were supervised by parish councillors and volunteers with making their own.   Families also made wreaths out of willow and foliage collected from The Acres as well as bird feeders.
